Certification

Even though our stoves carry many UK certifications they are not certified in any way for Canadian purposes. If you need to provide your home insurance company with proof that your stove has been properly installed you will need a WETT technician inspect (or perform) the installation and issue a WETT report. WETT reports are commonly issued for properly installed non-certiied stoves and many hundreds of our stoves have been installed in Canada. If you think you will need a WETT report we recommend contacting a WETT-certified professional prior to purchasing a stove. You can find a WETT tech at wettinc.ca

Because the stoves are not certified in Canada the clearances provided in the manuals will be disregarded and instead blanket clearances for non-certified appliances will apply, you can find them here: woodheat.org/clearances

Clearances can be greatly reduced by using heat shields on your walls as described in the link above, your WETT technician will be aware of this option.

Chimney

Our stoves use 4" and 5" chimneys. We do carry both sizes but are not aware of anyone else in Canada carrying the 4" size; the 5" size does exist but is not always easy to find. The most common size of chimney for wood stoves is 6" - widely available online and from local retailers - and all our stoves will work with a 6" chimney. You can purchase our 4" to 5" and 5" to 6" adaptors if you need.

To find out which chimney parts you will need please visit our page with installation diagrams here.

We ask all customers to please try to order all chimney parts (if ordering from us) at the same time as the stove to avoid unnecessary shipping charges. We do not sell chimney parts without stoves. If you purchased a stove from us and are missing some chimney parts please contact us and we will provide you with a passcode for checkout without a stove, shipping charges will apply.
